Overview
Our bioengineering research is focused in three broad areas:
-
surface modification of metals for medical applications, with improved cell materials interactions, bactericidal properties, and tribocorrosion resistant implants
-
development of bioglass for temporary implants, for biocidal membranes, functional coatings
-
development and characterization of dental materials
Our surface engineering research is focused in two broad areas:
-
metallic materials modified by electrolytic plasma processes for improved corrosion and wear resistance
-
mechanical, tribological, and corrosive properties of hard coatings
Apart from these activities, we also have research activities in the areas of non-conventional machining (EDM, and PM-EDM), and additive manufacturing.
